Mark Your Calendar: Election Day is Wednesday, March 18, 2026. During Parent-Teacher conferences. Polls open at 6:00am and close at 7:00pm.
Who can vote? All parents/guardians, school staff, and community members (17+) living within our school's attendance boundary.
What do I need? Please bring two forms of ID to the polls. US citizenship is not required to vote in LSC elections.
Examples of acceptable forms of identification:

- Other Governmental Agency I.D. (Federal, State, Local)
- Current Lease
- Current Utility Bill (e.g., Gas, Electric, Water)
- Credit or Debit Card
- Employment ID (with photo)
- Court Documents
- Chicago CityKey Card

- Student's Report Card
- Student's Birth Certificate naming the voter as a parent
- Court Documents naming the voter as the Legal Guardian
- Illinois State Board of Education Affidavit of Enrollment and Residency previously filed with the school naming the voter as temporary custodian of a child enrolled in the school
- Letter from a parent or legal guardian previously filed with the school naming the voter as Temporary Custodian of a child enrolled in the school
- Tax Return for the voter identifying the student as a dependent
- Other Legal Documents or Records determined to be reliable by the judges

How to Apply (English/Spanish):
Every candidate must complete nomination forms as part of their application. This year, applicants will use DocuSign to apply electronically. DocuSign replaces paper applications for adult candidates completing their forms in English or Spanish.

What is an LSC?
Chicago Public Schools have Local School Councils (LSC) which are responsible for three main duties:
Did you know LSC members are highly trained?
All LSC members must complete 9 training modules within six months of taking office. The Board ise in charge of this training, and if an LSC member fails to complete the program within the six month period allowed, the Board will declare his/her seat vacant following a hearing. For removed parent and community members, the LSC will then appoint a qualified person who meets the eligibility requirements to fill the unexpired term. For removed school staff members, the Board will appoint a qualified person who meets the eligibility requirements to fill the unexpired term following a non-binding staff poll.
There are nine (9) mandatory lessons that LSC members have to take. The nine mandatory lessons are:
